Line 134 resumed service between Santa Monica and Trancas Canyon in Malibu on Friday, Feb. 28. Buses WILL NOT serve stops between Temescal Canyon and Rambla Vista due to damage from the Palisades Fire. Line 134 will serve all other stops, including the E Line’s Downtown Santa Monica Station, Malibu Pier, Cross Creek Road, Civic Center Way and Malibu Canyon Road. Riders should expect travel delays through the work zone as speeds are restricted to 25 miles per hour. Metro will review schedules once service is back underway and make any needed adjustments.

Metro has modified the eligibility requirements for our reduced fare and discount fare programs, making it easier for wildfire victims to access essential resources, recover and rebuild. See: www.metro.net/fireresponse/ Here is a new interactive map of evacuation and resource centers near our bus and rail system. We’ll update the map as we get new information.

FEMA has opened two disaster recovery centers. Both are near our rail system if you need a ride. The centers are located at:

UCLA Research Park West 10850 West Pico Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90064 Hours: Daily 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Getting there via transit: the center is a .3 mile walk from the E Line’s Westwood/Rancho Park Station. Big Blue Bus Lines 7 & 8 and Culver City Bus Line 3 also stop nearby.

Altadena Disaster Recovery Center 540 W. Woodbury Rd. Altadena, CA 91001 Hours of operation – Daily: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Getting there via transit: Metro’s Bus Line 662 and Pasadena Transit’s Lines 31 and 32 stop nearby at the intersection of Woodbury and Lincoln.

To plan a transit trip, you can use Google Maps, Apple Maps, the Transit or Moovit apps or the trip planner on metro.net

More info from FEMA is here.

There remains impacts to a few bus lines due to the wildfires in our region.

LINE 602: has resumed with a modified route. Line 602 westbound will run on Sunset Boulevard to Allenford, Paul Revere Middle School and then loop back east via 26th, San Vicente, Bundy and back to Sunset Blvd. Line 602 eastbound is using PCH, San Vincente and Bundy before re-joining Sunset Blvd.

LINE 660: No northbound service north of Woodbury in Altadena. Southbound service from Loma Alta Drive to Lincoln to Woodbury and back to regular route on Fair Oaks.

LINE 662: Clockwise service is from Lake/Woodbury to Lincoln/Woodbury. Counter-clockwise service is from Lincoln/Woodbury to Lake/Woodbury.

The G Line’s Van Nuys Station is closed for three years as of Friday, February 21, and is replaced by a nearby temporary stop at Van Nuys Boulevard and Oxnard Street.

The current Van Nuys Station is being replaced with a new elevated station as part of the project to make the G Line more reliable, safer and faster.

•Parking and TAP vending machines at Van Nuys Station will also be closed as of Friday, Feb 21. As an alternative to the TAP machines, load fare on your TAP card online at taptogo.net or use the nearest TAP vendor. Vendors near Van Nuys Station include the CVS at 5601 Van Nuys Boulevard and Ria Transfers at 14440 Victory Boulevard.

•As an alternative to TAP cards, get the TAP app to use your smartphone as a TAP card. The app is available for iPhones and Android devices. On iPhones the app can load your TAP card into your Apple Wallet.

•Parking will be available at Sepulveda Station with access via Haskell Avenue or Erwin Street

For more information on the station closure and the G Line Improvements Project, please see our blog post.
