Overview

Metro is conducting the Pico Rivera Commuter Rail Station Feasibility Study to explore ways to improve public transportation and regional rail access in Pico Rivera and the Gateway Cities. The study will assess the feasibility of adding a new station between the Norwalk/Santa Fe Springs and Commerce Metrolink stations. Metro is working with SCRRA (Metrolink), LOSSAN, CHSRA, BNSF, and Pico Rivera to evaluate the benefits for the community and regional rail.
Status
Metro’s Pico Rivera Rail Station Feasibility Study will evaluate the potential for adding a new passenger station between the Norwalk/Santa Fe Springs and Commerce Metrolink stations. Launched in February 2023, it supports the California State Rail Plan’s goal to boost rail ridership. Concluding in spring 2025, the study includes site selection, community outreach, and a basic design. It will assess mobility, economic benefits, feasibility, operations, and environmental impacts for the new station.
