The East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit Project will improve connections to key destinations. The 6.7-mile southern segment includes 11 new stations and a Maintenance & Storage Facility, while the 2.5-mile northern segment is under study.
Status
Metro has completed the preliminary engineering design for the East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit Project and awarded the Pre-Construction Phase 1 Progressive Design Build (PDB) contract to the San Fernando Transit Constructors Joint Venture (SFTC JV). The first of seven Advanced Utility Adjustments (AUA) work packages was awarded in late 2022 and completed in March 2024. The second and third AUA work packages have been awarded to SFTC JV, work began in the Fall of 2024 on the second work package and is ongoing and the third work package is scheduled to start spring 2025. Southern California Gas (SCG) relocations are ongoing throughout the Project corridor. Real estate activities will continue through the next few years, with a Metro-approved Relocation Plan to assist impacted businesses and individuals.
