LA River Path Project
Overview
The LA River Path Project is a new bicycle and pedestrian path along an approximately eight-mile stretch of the Los Angeles River from Elysian Valley through Downtown Los Angeles to the City of Maywood.
Metro is making it easier to get around with an eight-mile shared-use bicycle and pedestrian path along the LA River between Elysian Valley and the City of Maywood, through downtown Los Angeles and the City of Vernon. This project will close the gap in the LA River Path, creating a safe, efficient active transportation travel option connecting the San Fernando Valley and Long Beach.
Status
Metro anticipates releasing the Draft Environmental Impact Report (Draft EIR) in Winter 2024/2025, which will be accompanied by public hearings and a comment period to solicit public feedback. Following the public review period for the Draft EIR, the Metro Board of Directors will select a Single Alternative. Following the selection of the Single Alternative, the Metro Board of Directors will certify the Final Environmental Impact Report (Final EIR) with responses to public comments. Certification of the Final EIR is anticipated in 2025/2026.
