Rail to Rail Active Transportation Corridor Project – Segment A
Overview

Getting around just got easier. The new Rail to Rail path connects the communities serviced by the Metro K Line Fairview Heights Station and the Metro A Line Slauson Station, making it safer and more convenient to walk, bike, and access transit. This project brings more travel options and better connections to jobs, schools, and services.
Status
Segment A of the Rail to Rail Active Transportation Corridor opened in May 2025, creating a new walking and biking path with a western terminus near the Metro K Line at Fairview Heights and an eastern terminus near the Metro A Line at Slauson. This safe, car-free route links neighborhoods, transit stops, schools, and parks across South L.A.
While Segment A is now open, planning continues for Segment B, which will extend the path to the L.A. River. An environmental study is currently underway. Learn more about Segment B.
