Joint Development – Venice Division 6
Overview
In 2018 and 2019, Metro conducted community outreach and technical analysis to inform development guidelines for this site, which were published in June 2019. The process to select a developer also began in 2019 and is nearing completion in 2024.
Metro hosted an online Community Update in March 2024. LA Metro staff presented an overview of the development process. The two developer finalist teams presented their design concepts to the public for the first time and a Q&A session was held. Follow this link to view the recording of the event.
Status
On June 20, 2024, Metro staff presented to the Planning and Programming Committee a recommendation to enter into an Exclusive Negotiation Agreement (ENA) with the Pinyon Group, a Los Angeles based developer with strong ties to the Venice community. The agenda can be found here.
On June 27, 2024, the full Metro Board of Directors approved entering the ENA with the project developer. The minutes from this meeting can be found here. The agreement with the developer will be signed by January 2025.
In Q1 of 2025, the developer will begin a series of community outreach events to provide more information on the project status and the opportunities the project will bring to the Venice community. Stay tuned for further updates in early 2025.
